Why I Built the Space
I Couldn't Find.
Before any of this, I was a teacher. I spent my days helping other people believe they could grow, learn, and become more than they thought possible — and somewhere along the way I forgot to ask myself the same question.
I started gaming at 31. Wife. Mom of four boys. A full, busy, already-stretched life. I had no idea what I was doing. There was a moment — early on — when I almost quit. I felt out of place, behind, like I'd missed some invisible deadline for starting. That moment taught me more than any win ever did.
I didn't have everything figured out when I started this. I simply knew I wanted to build something worth showing up for.
I searched for a space where a Black woman like me — starting something new later, with a life already in motion — could belong without having to justify her presence. I didn't find it. So I built it.
Gaming was the doorway. Confidence, growth, and intentional living became the destination. The Level Up Culture grew into a space for mindset, lifestyle, creativity, community — and anyone who believes in building something worth being proud of.
